The Wave Series was the catalyst for Newberry Color Theory, available on Amazon. The theory integrates the color of things, atmosphere, and the complementary colors of depth and foreground, and light and shadow.

Michael Newberry introduces and explains his original color theory developed over decades of painting and studying visual reality. Using a simple theme, wavescapes, Newberry shows us 16 variations of his color theory. Unlike traditional classical painters who used limited color strategies or the Impressionists who expanded the role of light and atmosphere, Newberry integrates four key elements: color of things, complementary depth versus foreground, light versus shadow, and atmosphere into a cohesive color theory system.
